Eid-14th November 2016

Eid is celebrated my Muslims twice a year.  Firstly, in the year it is celebrated at the end of the Hoy month of Ramadhan.

During the morning Muslims attend the Eid prayer at a mosque. On the day Muslims wear new clothing as well as cook and eat special and traditional foods and desserts with friends and family as a part of the celebration. The first Eid is known as Eid-ul-Fitr.

The second Eid is celebrated some time after the first Eid. It is celebrated following the story of Prophet Abraham, therefore it is called Eid-ul-Adha: the festival of sacrifice.  On this Eid Muslims who can afford to sacrifice an animal to do so.  Those animals include goat, cow and even camels.

Depending on the law of the country you live in either a professional butcher arrives at your home and helps you sacrifice your animals. Which you have bought prior Eid.  Those country include Pakistan and India.

However, if you are a resident of a non-Asian country then your method includes paying for your meat that's delivered from a slaughter house to a shop. Which you then pick up later.  The second Eid signifies the conclusion of the Holy pilgrimage to Mecca.
