Southall-14th November 2016

Located in West London and dominantly rich with Sikh Culture. Southall is not only well popular because of the large number Sikh living there. But also because it is one the largest places in London that provides you with traditional clothes boutiques and jewellery shops. As soon as one arrives there, you experience -jam packed streets full of people.  People who are busy buying traditional attires, shoes and accessories that most likely will be used at weddings, celebrations or even just presents for each other.

The best time for one to visit this place would be during festival seasons such as Eid, Diwali or even Christmas. As one would get best offers and bargains (I mean seriously good bargains, such as getting 80% off). Apart from the large availability of boutiques and stores, Southall is also an ideal place to learn about the Sikh culture as there is a traditional Gurduwara ( Sikh temple) that one could visit.

Also, you can also become familiarized with South Asian music. As you will hear loud music being played at some shops and also some CD or DVD stores in the corner.

But, not to forget amongst the busy shopping it is important to stay energized.  Although central for shopping, Southall also has a good Afghan restaurant called the Kabul restaurant. The menu includes  traditional and freshly cooked Afghan as well as Indian food.  Such as Karahi Murgh ( a form of Chicken curry) and vegetable meals.
